Mirror Man

Mirror Man

I see myself reflected differently,
Not the vision I have inside.
Lines are being drawn across my skin,
Time will not be denied.

Black to grey then white,
Hair beginning to thin,
Despite these slight amendments,
Little has changed from within.

I have no quarrel with time,
Whatever it holds in surprise,
Drawing new ideas from experience,
Seeing clearly through my eyes.

Mirror man be fulfilled,
Knowing your heart is dear.
To the one who keeps it safely,
Forever young when she is near.
